Last weekend here in Massachusetts we skipped the end of spring and went directly to summer. Three days of 80 degree plus temperatures has brought leaves to the trees, flowers to my magnolia, greener pastures for my flock, and scads of black flies and mosquitoes. They are a pestilence, tormenting the poor sheep. We've place fans everywhere in the dairy to keep the mothers and lambs comfortable during the mid-day heat.

OMG -- your babies are the cutest things ever -- I could watch the video for hours. Love how the older lamb frolics with the babies in the first half -- kicks up her heels. And the little black one...

It looks a lot like my daughter's playgroup. Which ewe is that that thinks she's one of the kids? Or is she teaching them?
~Kate, it's Galveston, a first time mom who hasn't quite accepted the mantle of adulthood. It's a good thing she only has a single to worry about. She's a playful sweetie. Barb~

That is one of the funniest things I have seen. I love that Galveston gets in on the action as well. Just too funny!!!
Thank you.

Thanks for sharing the fun! The lambpede (and especially Galveston) resulted in a gathering of giggling girls around the computer this morning.

Your neighbor's Belted Galloways are lovely things, and not bad on the grill either.
I love the lambpede. We're becoming quite a bit more serious about sheep around here of late, to go with the bees and chickens and such.
~Let me know when you're ready. There are some real cuties in this year's bunch!~

I loved seeing the little black one scampering around. I felt bad for it since it's mama didn't like it. Looks like your mothering has done the trick. What fun to see them all.
~Actually, the mother liked the black one - it was her white lamb she didn't like! Thanks for reading, Barb~

Love this video! I watch it 3 or 4 times per day because it makes me smile & laugh. The lambies are certainly braver as they scamper wildly through the fields.
I love to hear them talk to each other; I love to see the little black lamb.

The frolicking ewe cracked me up. I hope Zuni is doing well. At least she is cooler.

The black one reminds me of 'Spike' out of the Gremlins.
