Holly took the hoggets for a stroll in the snow today - moving them to the big barn for their very big date with the shearer on Friday. Since fleeces need to be absolutely dry for shearing, we moved them as early as possible this morning to get them tucked into the most protected building before the storm really got cranking. Which it is right now. I can barely make out the barn from my window. It's suppose to storm all night and we could get as much as a foot here in the hills before it's over.
An update on my neighbor's little ram lamb: Last night Barbara happily reported that the lamb is on his feet, nursing and back with his mother and sibling! I'm hugely relieved to know there was a happy outcome. To Barbara's credit, she worked on keeping him warm and fed until he was able to do things for himself. I'll try to stop by her barn on the way to town tomorrow to get a picture of the little family.
Off to the barn to check on everyone one last time for the evening. Let's see how the hoggets are settling in at the big barn. Wishing all my N.E. neighbors a safe homeward commute tonight.

Thanks for the follow up on your neighbor's lamb! He's so cute - it's wonderful to know he made it.

Yay! So glad to hear the adorable little fellow is doing well. Are the sheep usually out in the snow? Does it phase them at all?

I'm so relieved to hear the little lamb is okay! I fretted over it all yesterday.

We had a mere few flakes earlier today and it has jut started to "snish". I hear the higher elevations should expect a foot or more. Time to hunker down and keep warm. :-) Glad you were able to get them all into the big barn in time. Looking forward to the shearing photos.

What happy news about your neighbor's lamb! I wonder if she knows how many of us were praying for the little one!

I'm so glad the little guy made it - I was afraid to check the blog. They have a way of sneaking into your heart! The group of hoggets look like school children following the teacher on a field trip - very cute!! Hope the storm isn't too bad - I did see some bulbs starting to pop up and our mallards are back at the pond so Spring can't be too far away - I hope :)

It sounds like you got the hoggets safe and dry in the big barn just in time. I hope you're not completely snowed in.
Great news about your neighbour's new little lamb!

Down here on the SE CT coast it is supposed to rain until Friday night. I expect that means snow for you. Hope your shearers can tunnel through the snow.
Wonderful news at the excellent outcome of the two Barbara shepherding.
